Empty Page

This page is blank where I have to write about you
What should I fill it with, what metaphors will impress?
What techniques to express what in my heart true?
I would rather keep this empty if your love to me undress.

Shall I care that these lines past our lives survive
That when read by others to posterity grow?
But, what matters most is when you are here alive
I don’t care what some future readers know.

I might fill this canvass where you best rendered
And the colors I use here depict a splendid scene
But, let my memory be where you best remembered
For the love we make now on this page not seen.

So, let me use this space to let you know what it miss
No matter how eloquent or transcendent each part
I would trade every line or verse for your kiss
And leave this page blank and let our love fill my heart.
