Not Seeing you Again

I won’t see you anymore, I have to admit

So, here I am so many miles away from you

With only these days my loneliness won’t acquit

I guess that I have these days will have to do.

Except they cannot, now that you are gone

Unless they, a love like yours, back to me bring

But how can I to another belong

Is love, in the end, such a fickle thing?

Or is love something you are lucky to find

And, losing it, can expect nothing more?

Then even Time can never be so kind

For it only leaves behind the one I adore.

And I can’t expect another to take your place

But accept that I won’t see you again

And my remaining days only your memory trace

Realizing seeing you only in vain.

Still, can love, my loss, so easily concede

Despite how dim its prospects seem to be?

As my heart beats, only love gives what I need

That is lost when you are not next to me.
