Paradise's Promise

The trees are shivering against the coming storm
The ground is quaking for the coming upheaval
The oceans cresting angrily as these forces form
This Earth, born Paradise, now confronted by evil.

It is its offspring that to its greatest glory created
With their better will could decide its truest destiny
Born with such promise and with nothing else satiated
The trembling Earth's fate relies on our humanity.

And the trees waiting for something to restore them to calm
The ground wants to stand steady and stern
The oceans only want their ebbs and flows to be the norm
And this Earth, with humanity’s will, its higher purpose learn.

And Paradise realized on the globe where it was given birth
And those forces against this destined to ultimately fail
Where humanity, unfettered, will prove its worth
And Paradise preserved where its goodness prevail.
