Temple

When the Olive gardens grew in his plain sight
Hercules learned though half-god still whole
But met one whose beauty even Zeus delight
Such godly satisfaction created in a human soul.

And the temples in his honor erected
What unnatural demons threatened he had slain
Except an earthly creature his passion most affected
And now like any mortal his love plain.

Now learned that it is love most immortally live
And he is only its fortunate vessel
That even to a god his purpose give
To love is built the most enduring temple.
