Beyond Time's Measure

It seems getting somewhere is longer than when you return
Except when it comes to my feelings for you
It seemed like forever to gain what my heart did most yearn
And, too quickly, appears that our love is through.

And now that long and lonely period I must bear again
Knowing that the fall from love only too brief
And from too short moments of happiness suffer endless pain
The journey back to you time, only in my memory, finds relief.

So, how can I believe that this love again ever find?
Perhaps this journey will prove, in this life, too far
It may when my earthly hours their last seconds unwind
That I find you waiting on the nearest star.

And then I should not fret that here our paths never meet
Nor think of the time that once again our love will prove
For if not on this Earth then in Heaven’s road complete
Where a love such as ours, beyond Time's measure, move.
