Merry Christmas

The snow softly falls as if on merry cue
Bedecking the land in the holiest attire
For the birth of One who gave birth to You
And what so sacred do I most desire.

A day in which I find our humanity
The truer purpose to which all actions lead
And no higher one than when you’re with me
With you by my side is all my life does need.

The occasion to celebrate what love most move
The hearts of all those that heed its call
So one kiss from you its message prove
And for the One that brought you forth I fall.

Yet, the season of spirit one present gives best
The one gift for which my heart most long
Unwrapped and resting on my chest
And through your voice hear my Christmas song.
