Don’t Take My Dreams

My road has been too winding and long
So, don’t take my dreams from me
And with you if I find cannot belong
I must have some place to escape my misery.

And there you, in your radiance, always find
Where here I wager against uncertainty
Taking my dreams from me, then, too unkind
In them, what this world takes, they bring to me.

I must have a reason to always believe
Too often my faith, in the day, upended
In the night, my doubt is given a reprieve
So, to lose my dreams am most offended.

So, please don’t take my dreams away
They are what makes this world most true
For, even if, here, with me cannot stay
In my dreams, I will always be alongside you.
